When Disney was just 19 years old, he was working at The United Film Ad Service Company and became interested in animated cartoons. With a borrowed camera, he began experimenting with animation, as seen in Newman's Laugh-O-Grams (1921), which was a series of animated political cartoons made for audiences in Kansas City, Missouri. As Disney's reputation grew, he formed the Laugh-O-Grams Studio where he produced a series of six animated fairy tale cartoons. Today, only four of the original six cartoons are know to have survived. Every effort has been made to salvage the remains of these important milestones which offer a fascinating view of Walt Disney's first works.
